Special Project of Upper Valley HFH

Northeast Kingdom Habitat for Humanity is a local project committee of Upper Valley Habitat for Humanity. NEK serves communities in Caledonia, Orleans and Essex counties, including Danville, St. Johnsbury, Concord, Lyndonville, Barton, Burke, Orleans, Newport and Derby. To date, NEK has helped twenty-five families build or renovate homes. The NEK group is trying to revive an affiliate that did excellent work from 1988-2002.

Service Area:

Caledonia, Orleans and Essex counties, including Danville, St. Johnsbury, Concord, Lyndonville, Barton, Burke, Orleans, Newport and Derby.

Projects Completed to date:

NEK History: (2008-2011)

Since being reconstituted in 2008, has done 25 projects. Two have been work on single family new homes. Most projects have been under the Brush with Kindness banner: weatherization, repair, and handicapped access. This work includes two new homes, two apartment complexes, six trailers in a park, and 17 families in their current homes.

NEK is currently accepting applications for their first home under the Bungalow Program of trailer replacement.
